Another delicious dinner at Bucks! Not only
Do they carry all your fishing needs, they also have the best cheesesteaks and what I assume is fresh hand cut fries. Fried shrimp dinner super crispy as well as their chicken tenders perfect for picky kids. We enjoy at least one meal every year we come down here. 🤤 and don’t forget to leave a tip for their vacation fund!! ❤️

[Reflecting on our experience two years ago. Recently visited the region again and was sorely reminded]

My wife and I went to Buck's Den to have a beer and listen to music while camping at Assateague. A waitress (50's/60's white female) came up to serve us. I (mid-thirties white male) ordered a beer, and she took my order no questions asked. My wife (late-thirties non-white female with a foreign accent) ordered the same. She asked for her ID, which we had inadvertently left in our tent at the campsite. Though my wife was clearly of drinking age (and a couple years older than me), the waitress put up a big stink and claimed that she checks everyone's IDs. I guarantee you with 100% certainty that she was not going to check mine. She never asked me to present it. She was clearly discriminating against my spouse.

We left and went to another establishment that wanted our business. This is unfortunate because it is one of the few places near Assateague for food/drink. But we will never set foot in here again on our yearly trips to the island.

If you're ever near Berlin, Maryland or heading to Assateague Island, be sure to stop at Buck's Place. Our new favorite 5 Star Dive Bar. It's at the corner of rt. 611 and Assateague rd. They have everything you need but not at tourist trap prices.
