Recently my wife and I rented Unit 1801. We were looking for a unit that had great bay and ocean views. To our surprise every unit on the 18th floor had bay views except 1801, it was never disclosed on the website. As we entered the unit we put grocery bags on the counters and kitchen table, every bag stuck to the surfaces. We had to wash the counters and table due them being dirty and sticky.
The dishwasher smelled like a sewer and we had to run the machine twice with bleach. The washer and dryer had wet towels in both machines and we had to rewash them. The refrigerator had rust on the outside of it and my wife had to clean it out as well. The screen slider door was off its track and resting against the glass.
We turned the furnace on as it was chilly and to our surprise the fan never turned off. After calling the front desk and then visiting the desk the next day threaten to call the city for a safety violation did they finally call in a serviceman to repair the unit. The silverware and plates looked like the owners shopped at a garage sale. We cut our trip short and left the Carousel 3 days early.
Stay away from 1801, it was not worth it!
Update: When you rent a condo you go through the Carousel, this means to me that the unit and the hotel are associated. In this case the hotel contacted a repairman for service on poorly maintained furnace. Why wasn’t I allowed to contact the owner of the unit directly? It’s because the Carousel represents the owner, don’t let them tell you otherwise. I will not be back,

The amenities are great and our grandchildren loved the bounce house! We were disappointed in the accommodations, especially the substandard cleanliness of the rooms. Quality control on the housekeeping is not being performed. There was a permanent ring around the bathtub, growth on the ceiling tiles in the bathroom and scum around the sink faucets. The back of the draperies were filthy. I understand coming out of season is to expect some wear and tear on the rooms but you need to do better in the housekeeping department. We also had a friend visit the bathroom which was concerning. We saw it on the last day so it was too late to request another room. Please take more time to clean and detail the rooms, as well as to exterminate regularly. Also, the beds are lumpy and very uncomfortable, but the linens were especially comfortable. The outside bar servers could have been a bit more friendly but the inside staff was great! Food is a bit pricey but expected. More food/appetizer specials would be nice to offer. Overall, the kids enjoyed it and didn’t notice the details. They were there for the fun, which they had a lot of it. The fire pits were also a big hit!

Convenient location with a great view. The amenities are really nice.
The beds are the stiffest beds I have ever slept on and made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. Several drop ceilings in the halls have clear water damage and the rooms need updating - the decor is nice but the tubs are clearly old and not well maintained. It seems like the hotel has put more money into all of the amenities on the ground floor than they have in maintaining the rest of the building.
We would have overlooked that and considered staying again, however the staff was awful. Both during my check-in and check-out staff at the front desk were standing around talking to eachother and didn’t bother to halt their conversations as guests were lining up. When they finished their conversation, one staff member just stared at me - no hello, no how can I help you, nothing - just stared at me until I walked from the “enter here” sign to the counter, and even then made no attempt to address me in any way. During my check out, the only words that were said to me were “what is your room number” and “you’re set”. Again, no hello, no how can I help you, no how was your stay. She didn’t even ask for the keys back. The pool attendant the first night we were there was more focused on talking to a guy than she was in doing her job - at one point it looked as though she was arguing with him. We were told during check in if we wanted housekeeping we would have to request it, which I don’t care so much about. The only reason I bring that up is because we didn’t request housekeeping, though they did come by. The gentleman seemed annoyed we were in the room. Only one bed was made and the towels left were damp, which did make me wonder if they were replaced with new ones or if the ones that were used earlier were simply refolded and put back on the rack. The only staff member we encountered who even smiled was the woman who worked at the little bistro next to the ice skating rink - she was incredibly friendly and nice.
Unfortunately, the demeanor of the staff is reason enough for us to stay elsewhere next time we are in town.
