Loud and dated rooms; this 3 star hotel was filled with a conference which wasn’t notated on their listing and the place was a loud nightmare of young ladies yelling all night. The poorly poured concrete layout leaves very little sound suppression between rooms - you can easily hear neighboring units 3 down.

The bedding is old. The top of the bedding was very worn, snagged fabrics and a texture coarse and unwelcoming. During my 2 night stay the ac unit reset at 2-3 am causing the room to reset to whatever the hotel wanted to regulate, the room flashed with bright lights and the unit made a humming noise all early morning.

The signature of Conrad Hiltons brand was fast check ins, and room service - this place didn’t have room service offered for one night, but on weekends during the off season. The quality of parking, and other perks such as the 24/7 market were here, but overwhelmingly similar to a Hampton inn or Tru brand in depth and quality offered.

Upon arrival I was not treated like a rewards program member, and seemingly felt like the status I had went ignored. I inquired about the comped bottles of water my status gave me, and I was told I needed to buy a water from the kiosk, when after reaffirming my diamond status should have included room waters or comped water from entry.

Pricing is above other locations but the quality of what you’re really buying here isn’t that great. As a frequent traveler the more newer Tru was similar, slightly smaller in room but was nearly the same in overall quality. The bedding was not comfortable and the blinking lights and inability to control your rooms comfort really isn’t as welcoming as an experience as you’d want.

Also when I stayed here at the start of the year the house staff was aggressive near checkout and banged on my door 1 hour before departure while I was on a call talk about poor quality of service.

During my last visit I attempted to check in and the front desk couldn’t accommodate my early check in even though through the electronic portal had communicated the opposite. In fact, I was told I could arrive early and use the app to recheck in (as I do nearly daily when I am on the road traveling and relying on Hilton properties). What didn’t happen was the property processing my request leaving me ignored, uncharged and simply waiting for my digital key when I arrived 2 plus hours beyond where I said I’d arrive. Not only did I waste my time on the application working with the staff; there was no follow through or ownership when I complained at the overwhelmed front desk when I didn’t have my key. The poorly trained staffed buckled and broke down, ran away from the desk and went to get someone. In the end, I didn’t even get my digital key and had a nightmare of a disrespectful experience while queuing in this poorly managed 2nd floor lobby.

Our room was perfect! Clean, and a very smart layout with lots of storage (King Suite with 2 rooms and kitchen). All rooms have balconies. The staff were all wonderful and the restaurant and bar were very good. Our breakfast was great and packed well to keep it hot. Kitchen is stocked for cooking as well. Direct access to the beach. We'll be back!

I’ve been wanting to stay here because of the location and the rooms seem nice but in the high season the price never seemed reasonable ($250) a night or more. So we came in the off season and I’m so glad we did. I will never stay here again. The hotel lobby and restaurant area was nice and clean however we were like 1 of 10 guest there lol.

The rooms are spacious and somewhat clean, coffee machine was dusty and we ran water through it twice to clean. Super easy to do but the hotel doesn’t do it and some area we’re moldy so we cleaned it. Beds and pillows are the worst I’ve ever slept on in my life. And I’ve stayed at the Thunderbird motel and Casablanca, Comfort inn (next door & on 84 ? By the Dennys), Hyatt Place, A Loft all in Ocean City - It’s as if Hilton Garden inn were motel beds, so low and you can feel all the springs, holes and the pillows were very flat. Truly one of the worst hotel beds experience in my life. The rooms are nice and spacious, lovely TV and storage but the beds are cheap and uncomfortable. I wanted a relaxing stay bed rotting and I’ve had the worst sleep/bed hangout in my life. The heater/ AC unit was also the loudest and vibrated so loud between the bed and the heater I did not sleep - it vibrated so loud we had to turn it off and back on to stop it.

We also came because my 9yr old wanted to walk on the beach and use the indoor pool.

Indoor pool area smelled off, fermented odd smells - and pool drains were filled with fruit flies. Hundreds of fruit flies just flying around out of the drains once water splashed them. The pool family bathroom was also a mess, urine and fruit flies everywhere.

All in all very dissatisfied and disappointed with the stay but glad we came during the off season to see for ourselves. We opted to stay here instead of our original Comfort inn in north beach but will have to go back to Comfort. The location doesn’t mean a thing if the beds, linens and pillows are uncomfortable and the pools aren’t taken care of.

I’m going to tell friends about this experience because we visit OC a lot in the summer and hotels are always hard to choose. We won’t be back unfortunately. For a Hilton Garden Inn the mattresses and pillows, linens are insulting and hurtful to our hospitality experience - definitely not in the best interest of your guest. Mattresses and pillows should be priority before all else.

Views are nice but I prefer better beds and pillows so I can be rested while looking at the sunrise not in pain from box springs lol. I’m only 36 and in so much pain from laying on these beds I can’t imagine older folks or people with hip, back, shoulder pain. Stay away!
